Body Wisdom Warriors Coaching

Come join our "Start with One" Challenge for making positive, healthy changes. The challenge starts 1/21/19 in our closed Body Wisdom Warriors FB group https://www.facebook.com/groups/543738259314636/

Make sure you answer the questions when you request to join the group! I don't let anyone in who doesn't answer the questions so that we maintain a supportive group filled with people who want to be there.

You’ve been a successful dieter … and eventually regained weight after dieting. You’ve also seen the headlines: “Diets don’t work for long term success,” and your own personal experience confirms that. Now the thought of starting another diet leaves you cold. You may feel like a failure for “needing” to diet again and maybe a little ashamed of yourself for not wanting to diet. You may feel you’re lazy or uncommitted or somehow unworthy if you don’t chase that lower number on the scale.  Yet you want to be healthier, happier, and more vibrant. What if I told you that you could do all those things? Become healthier, happier, thinner, and more vibrant without dieting?

I’ve been “battling” my weight most of my life, as if my weight was some sort of dragon that had to be either slayed or tamed into submission. I was a very successful dieter, losing 30, 50, 75, and even 120 pounds on various diets over the years. My journey with my weight was a primary motivator to change careers in my mid 40s, leaving a successful career in business to go back to school to study counseling psychology. I had lost weight again and wanted to understand myself and my weight battles so I didn’t regain that weight. I wanted to help others who were experiencing the same things as me. I was a warrior, a weight warrior. I’ve gained a few pounds back from my lowest weight but now I have no desire to do another diet or join another diet plan. I don’t want to start at the beginning again, with someone telling me what I should be eating and how I should be exercising. I’m experienced, so I know that if I consistently make certain changes to my diet and exercise, I will be healthier and, as a side effect, lose weight.

If you want to position yourself for long-term success, focus on making small changes in diet and exercise and fully incorporate those changes into your life. We often make radical changes for the period of time of active dieting, with old habits — and weight —  slowly returning. Jumping off the diet merry-go-round means you can focus on creating sustainable healthy habits which often leads to slow and sustainable weight loss.

And – here’s the most important point – you will naturally make these more subtle but profound changes if you appreciate your body. Not just finding the beauty on the outside, but appreciating the miracle that is this genius machine keeping you alive.  Feeling every muscle, appreciating every breath, sending love to the blood coursing through your body from the top of your head to your little toes, and understanding the signals your body is sending you about your health and your emotions.

The Body Wisdom Warriors approach is:

  • look at your current habits for eating and exercise as well as your previous excursions into dieting,
  • look at your goals and your vision for your life rather than merely looking at weight,
  • create and implement the plan you determine is best for your long-term success, and
  • affirm the miracle of your body every step of the way.

By taking the steps you can handle and fully incorporating these into your life for the long-term, you bypass one of the principle reasons people regain weight after dieting – reverting to old habits. You choose your new, sustainable, healthy habits and implement in a way that creates joy rather than causes pain. Along the way we’ll also look at emotional eating by addressing healthy emotional processing, rather than finding non-food related coping mechanisms which is usually how diets handle emotional eating.

So do you want to uproot your life to try yet another diet to … maybe … achieve short term weight loss? Or do you want to join me in positioning yourself for long-term success? We’ve been weight warriors. Now make peace with your body and become a Body Wisdom Warrior, becoming healthy, vibrant, and whole for life.
